CHICAGO -- Three people were injured, one seriously, when they were shot in car while driving in the southbound local lanes of the Dan Ryan expressway overnight.
It happened around 1 a.m. between 43rd Street and 59th Streets, tying up the locals for about three hours.
Illinois State Police say five people were in the white Chevy Impala when it was hit by several shots on the driver's side and the windshield.
The driver was able to head to Saint Bernard Hospital, which is just off the expressway on 64th Street.
Two of the shooting victims were treated for graze wounds and released.
The third was transferred to Stroger Hospital.
No suspects are in custody.
