2 teens killed in high-speed crash in Park Forest; driver held by police

PARK FOREST, Ill. -- Police in Park Forest are holding a driver who crashed this car into a tree at high speed, killing two teenaged passengers. Investigators believe alcohol played a role in the deadly crash.

It happened early this morning at Algonquin and Western.

The driver ran away after the crash, but showed up later at St. James Hospital.

Police showed up and arrested him.

The car involved in the crash was reported stolen in south suburban Ford Heights on June 1.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office is scheduled to perform autopsies today on the two teens who died in the crash.

    Wrong place wrong time? Um, they stole the car and they were speeding… and the driver fled… That’s not a matter of wrong place wrong time. That’s criminal.
