BAIL, Indonesia — The Chicago woman serving a prison sentence in Bali for the murder of her mother will reportedly hand over her baby to a Australian family.

The Daily Mail is reporting Heather Mack is “in negotiations to place three-month-old baby Stella, who was born in a prison hospital last March, into the care of an Australian family living in Bali.”

Mack and 21-year-old boyfriend Tommy Schaefer were charged with the murder of Mack’s mother Sheila VonWiese-Mack, who was found beaten to death at an upscale Bali resort last August.

20-year-old Mack was sentenced to 10 years in prison.   Her daughter is living with her in her prison’s cell currently.

The Daily Mail reports the Australian family has agreed to care for the child until Mack is released from prison.

“A source close to Mack said ‘nothing was set in stone’ but confirmed that negotiations were on-going,” according to the Daily Mail.

Very clever timing. Judge Cohen at the Cook County Court will hold a hearing on Friday to decide the fate of Heather’s trust fund vis-a-vis the Illinois Slayer statute. If she can quickly transfer the money and temporary custody of Stella to the Australian family, then Heather can pocket the money after she gets out of prison in 10 years. This will also be a windfall for her lawyer, Vanessa Favia. Who says crime doesn’t pay?

I know. She is the lawyer who visited Bali for two weeks last fall to view an ultrasound picture of the fetus and then submitted a bill to the trust fund for $126,000. That’s why they call her Vanessa the Vampire!

She shouldn’t get a dime of the trust fund…it should all go right to her daughter when she turns 18 and have a special clause that Heather cannot ever touch it…

Today, we learned at the court hearing that it is not a ‘handover’ but rather a sale of baby Stella for $150,000. Wonder how Heather will use the money?
