CHICAGO -- Chicago police are asking for help from the public to find the man who sexually assaulted a girl in a South Side high-rise.
Police have not released any information about the victim -- whether she is hospitalized or whether she is at home. All we know about her is that she is a juvenile.
The attack happened Sunday around 4:30 p.m. in a housing complex in the 6300 block of South Calumet Avenue.
Police say a man followed the girl into the elevator of a high-rise building, then pulled her into the stairwell and sexually assaulted her before running off.
The girl was only able to give police a vague description of her attacker because he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled tight around his face.
People who live in the complex say this is not the first attack.
"This has been going on since last summer, and it's only being targeted in the high-rise buildings," said resident Ebony Davis.
If you have any information about this suspect, you are asked to call detectives in the Chicago Police Special Investigations unit at (312) 492-3810.
