SALT LAKE CITY — Elizabeth Smart is now a mother.

Her father announced over the weekend that the 27-year-old and her husband, Matthew Gilmour, welcomed daughter, Chloe, back in February.

Smart made headlines in 2002 when she was kidnapped by a homeless street preacher.

She was freed after nine months in captivity.

Smart later launched a namesake foundation aimed at helping to find missing children and end underage sex trafficking.
