Taco Bell and Pizza Hut are the latest companies to announce they’re eliminating artificial colors and flavors.

Changes at Taco Bell include using real black pepper instead of “black pepper flavor” in its seasoned beef and eliminating yellow dye from its nacho cheese.

Pizza Hut will cut high-fructose corn syrup and unsustainable palm oil, among other ingredients.

But some experts say the industry trend to cut artificial ingredients doesn’t go far enough.

They say reducing salt, sugar or portion sizes would have a far bigger impact on public health.
