PLACENTIA, Calif. - PacSun has pulled a T-shirt from its stores and website after it came under attack from shoppers.

The shirt features an upside down American flag.

It was part of the store's partnership with rapper A$AP Rocky from New York called the A$AP Worldwide collection.

The shirt has been available since 2014.

A shopper posted a picture of it online Saturday.  Since then, thousands more have shared the image.

Most posts criticize the store for being disrespectful.

According to the U.S. Flag Code, "the flag should never be displayed with union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property."

PacSun apologized on its Facebook page on Monday.
