Thousands come out for annual Bike the Drive fundraiser

Chicago -- The drive Sunday morning was so much quieter than normal.

Thousands came out for the annual Bike the Drive event, raising money for the Active Transportation Alliance.

“When people get a chance to do this it’s always a big plus for the bikers,” said Mike McNeil, who did the full course from 57th Street north to Hollywood, 30 miles round-trip on one of the most iconic parkways in the country.

The freedom to move came on a weekend when we pay tribute to those who served.
