CHICAGO -- Chicago police are questioning a person of interest after a first grader was shot while walking home from school.

7-year-old Elijah Dace was with his 14-year-old brother, when shots were fired near 109th and Loomis Wednesday afternoon.

Dace hit the ground to take cover.

He didn't even realize he was hit in the shoulder, until his brother noticed a hole in his jacket.

Dace is in good condition and could go home from the hospital today.

Police do not believe he was the intended target.

God knows I feel awful for these poor children and residents that have to live like this, but AGAIN I say, you march and hold rallies to tell the world that Black lives matter you want to sue the police and everyone you can for a couple of acts of police brutality…….yet you have black on black crime daily, babies shot or hurt hourly, why is that ok? Who is supposed to stop it, you don’t want the police involved, yet you want answers and actions. How can anyone help if you wont help yourselves?
