CHICAGO -- A contractor working for the CTA was electrocuted Saturday afternoon while working near the intersection of North Avenue and Halsted.  The contractor was in a bucket lift when he came in contact with a power wire just before 5pm. ComEd crews had to be called out to the scene to cut power to the area before rescue crews could get to the man. The Cook County Medical Examiners office confirmed to WGN-TV that he died at the scene.
