You know summer is near when street festivals start popping up again and the farmers markets make their comeback. That wonderful season is upon us! Here are a few events worth checking out this weekend.
Mayfest Lakeview (May 15-17 at 3100 N. Ashland). Come out for the food, the bands and the beer. Costs $10 to get in.
Wine Riot (May 15-16 in the West Loop). Sip and learn as you wander Union Station’s Great Hall. 250 wines from around the world will be yours for the tasting. Get your ticket for $60.
Andersonville Wine Walk (May 17 at 5211 N. Clark). Weave in and out of various retail shops, which are transformed into wine tasting venues. Your route offers 30+ wines to try. Tickets for the 9th annual event are $40.
Chicago Craft Beer Week (May 14-24). An estimated 300 restaurants and bars are participating this year. Enjoy $4 tastings of craft brews and tons of special events throughout the week.
Division Street Farmers Market (Saturdays, 7am-1pm at Division & Dearborn).
Green City Market (Saturdays, 7am-1pm at 1800 N. Clark in Lincoln Park).
61st Street Farmers Market (Saturdays, 9am-2pm at 6100 S. Blackstone).
Roseland Community Market (Saturdays, 10am–3pm at 11400 S. Michigan).
Beverly Farmers Market (Sundays, 7am-1pm at 95th & Longwood).
Logan Square Farmers Market (Sundays, 10am–3pm at 3107 W. Logan).
