Back in 2006, WGN Entertainment Critic Dean Richards interviewed B.B. King.

When asked how he'd like to be remembered, King told Richards:

“I’d like to be remembered as a friend, like a neighbor next door…a friend. A person that loved people and wanted to be loved by them. (Dean: And your contribution to American music?) I’d like to be thought of as a guy who went on stage and tried to do his best every night. It’s a job I’d do for nothing but don’t tell the promoters.”
