Woman, 24, sexually assaulted in Lincoln Park

CHICAGO -- A community crime alert in Lincoln Park after a woman was sexually assaulted early Monday morning.

The 24-year-old woman told police she was assaulted around 1 a.m. inside an apartment on Arlington Avenue just west of Clark Street.

She met the attacker earlier in a nearby bar.

After the assault, the woman ran out of the apartment yelling for help. She was assisted by neighbors.

She was taken to the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with a cut to her left leg.

Police are investigating the incident. No one is in custody.
