Suspects break into home with mother, 5 children inside

BURR RIDGE, Ill. -- A violent home invasion has left southwest suburban Burr Ridge on edge.

Police say at least three suspects, one armed with a gun, forced their way into the home in the 8300 block of Clyndervan Rd around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

A woman and her five children were inside the home at the time. The children range in age from 3 to 19 years old.

The suspects entered the home and searched it and left after about 10 minutes.

The woman and three of her children reported being struck or held down, police say. They were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The suspects are described as male, all wearing hoodies with their faces covered by masks.   One suspect was armed with a black and grey gun.
