Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. before his fight with Manny Pacquiao. He's joined by the Burger King mascot.

It was called, “The Fight of the Century.”

Floyd Mayweather Junior versus Manny Pacquiao was forecast to break records for ticket sales, pay-per-view, hotels, and gambling.

The fight was going to have an audience comparable to a Super Bowl.

So maybe that’s why when Mayweather made his way to the ring, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the Burger King mascot was with him every step of the way.

Both were emotionless as they went down the aisle, since the King can’t really express himself.

But only one of them was being paid to be there.

Burger King reportedly spent $1 million to include its mascot in Mayweather’s entourage, which also included singer Justin Bieber.

Some saw this as an advertising investment for such a worldwide audience.

The publicity continued, for days after the fight, as people wondered what the “King” was doing there.
