FORT SMITH, Ark. — A waitress in Arkansas said she couldn’t believe her eyes after she received the tip of a lifetime from a customer.
Loran Lopez, 19, told KFSM she received a $2,000 tip from a stranger. A photo of the receipt shows the meal to cost about $278.
“I’m pretty sure my jaw dropped to the floor, and my heart stopped,” Lopez said.
KFSM reported Lopez said she didn’t know the customer personally, but had heard of her before.
Lopez told the station the same customer also left the bartender a $700 tip and each cook a $100 tip.
“I had so many rough nights here lately, and then she did that. I’m forever grateful for it too,” she told the station.
According to KFSM Loran Lopez works at Logan’s Roadhouse (map) in Fort Smith, Ark.
Lopez told Good Morning America she intends to use the money to help pay for college. She is currently a student at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
