Man, woman wounded in West Englewood shooting

CHICAGO — A man and a woman were shot while driving Sunday morning in the West Englewood neighborhood, police have confirmed.

The man, 23, was driving on the 6700 block of South Bishop at 10:30 a.m. when a gray minivan pulled up, and someone inside opened fire , according to police.

Police said the 23-year-old was shot multiple times. A 24-year-old woman inside the vehicle was shot in the leg.

The man drove to Holy Cross Hospital, and was then transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital. He was in critical condition Sunday afternoon, police said.

The woman was treated for her leg wound at Holy Cross.
