CHICAGO -- At State and Lake Sunday, the eyes were fixed firmly toward the heavens, 278 feet up.

It was the 10th time the Respiratory Health Association has raised money by repelling from theWit hotel.

For Beverly Weable, the challenge is very real. A former smoker, her mother lives with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

This plunge, the view, will take your breath away.

In this one day, nearly 70 people will repel, each one raising at least $1,000; $85,000 total for the day.

It’s a cause that does effect questions. Answers, they say, will come -- in part from their drive to put their feet firmly on the ground.
