MIAMI — A woman charged with DUI manslaughter for a fatal crash had just minutes before the wreck texted her ex-boyfriend: “Driving drunk woo” and “I’ll be dead thanks to you,” the Miami Herald reported.

Mila Dago, then 22, was in the midst of a nasty break-up with her boyfriend, prosecutors said. Throughout the night of the crash, she bar-hopped and sent her ex-boyfriend several angry texts.

Three minutes after sending the last message, Dago ran a red light and crashed into the side of a truck driven by 51-year old Benjamin Byrum on Aug. 14, 2013.

Dago and Byrum survived the crash, but Dago’s passenger — her friend, 22-year old Irina Reinoso — was killed.

On Thursday, prosecutors released new evidence, including a string of text messages.

Dago has pleaded not guilty to DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and two counts of DUI with damage to a person.

  • Not My FAult

It is not her fault. She was going through a tough time and deserves to drink, kill her friend, blame the trucker for being in the way and her ex for bringing all this misery in her perfect life. I’m glad I don’t live in her world of denial and passing blame and responsibility. Welcome to the real world!
