CHICAGO -- Chicago is the football capital of the world, for at least a couple more days.
Friday marks the second day of the 2015 NFL Draft. The second and third round picks will be made.
Gates at Grant Park open at 4pm.
Based on the weather and popularity of draft town so far, the crowds may get even bigger than they were for the first night.
An estimated 100,000 people showed up for the first round.
The NFL and Chicago officials are expecting more of the same through the weekend.
Chicago Bears fans roared with approval when the team selected West Virginia’s Kevin White with the 7th pick in the first round Thursday night.
The draft picks are being announced at the Auditorium Theater, but most of the crowd is across the street at Grant Park, also known as Draft Town.
The last four rounds of the draft are Saturday. For the first time ever, those picks will be made outdoors in Draft Town in front of the huge crowd.
Main street closures for NFL draft:
- Congress between Michigan Ave. and Columbus Dr. (closed through May 8)
- Columbus between Balbo and Jackson (closed through May 4)
