CHARLOTTE, NC -- The pastor of a North Carolina Church wants a homeless person to know the donation is appreciated.
The words on the envelope in the collection plate read: "Please don't be mad I don't have much. I'm homeless. God bless." Inside the envelope was 18 cents.
Reverend Patrick Hamrick of First United Methodist said church administrators were anything but mad.
He said the donation touched their hearts, and the nickel, dime and three pennies count for a lot more than just coins.
He said they are symbols of generosity from a donor who had little to give.
