CHICAGO -- In just a matter of days Grant Park has transformed into a football fans slice of heaven. Draft Town officially opens its doors Thursday.

Today, officials pulled back the curtain on what the experience will entail.

For the football fanatics, Draft Town sits just feet from the draft itself. Newly selected players will immediately head to “Selection Square” for a question and answer session.

Merchandise will be available just outside the square at AFC and NFC Row.

There will be player autographs, Hall of Fame exhibits and Buckingham Fountain will glow the colors of the NFL teams.

Visitors can try their foot at kicking a field goal and test their vertical. They also have the opportunity to run the 40 against an NFL player.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell spent Thursday morning with CPS students from Cather Elementary and some of the hopefuls headed to the draft this week. They played flag football in the “Play 60” field -an area for youth football clinics that also encouraged the need for 60 minutes of activity a day.
