DENTON, Texas — If you ever needed any evidence that nurses care vastly about every single patient they encounter, this is it.

A video posted last week on Facebook shows a nurse reacting as one of her patients stands up for the first time in 11 days.

The story as, posted by Texas mom Becky Miller:

“Our daughter, Bailey, had complete paralysis from the waist down for 11 days with no explanation as to why. This video is one of her favorite nurses coming onto her shift and not knowing that Bailey had started walking this day.”

The nurse immediately bursts into tears upon seeing Bailey, screaming, “Thank you, Lord.”

Miller said Bailey had no feeling or movement in her legs the day before. Doctors did not know what caused Bailey to lose feeling in her legs.

Commenters on Reddit immediately took the opportunity to commend nurses, and all of the work and long hours they put in daily.

“Nurses are great people,” one commenter wrote. “You’d have to be humanitarian to be a nurse.”

My daughter has this same illness….She’s paralyized for days …it’s called conversion disorder. You can Google the condition

My daughter was diagnosed with converison disorder as well but now doctors are starting to find things with more in depth testing. Some doctors are on our side by saying that’s not it. She also gets paralysis and tremors. We keep digging for answers. Hope you find answers too.

That is beautiful God answers prayers I don’t care what nobody says I just got tears in my my eyes from this you can tell she really loves her and Bailey loves her back

yes. it was “god.” never mind the painstaking hours the doctors and nurses put in, the years of study they have accumulated, or the centuries of the advancement of medical science. you are cheapening a truly beautiful moment by inviting your imaginary friend and giving him the credit. glory be to the invisible bearded dude in the clouds. praise white jesus.

You know, I don’t believe in God, but your comment really bothers me. Just because YOU don’t believe in something doesn’t mean that you should look down upon what others believe. Some people need that faith, they need something to believe in and it really is not your place to try and discredit their beliefs. Stop being so condescending towards other people just because you don’t agree with their religious beliefs.

I’m glad that there are nurses like her; i’ve know some myself. They are a wonderful contrast to those who don’t care and/or are abusive.

In my opinion, ALL the medical field workers are great people and all of them need to be humanitarians. NOT just the nurses. There are a lot of medical staff other than the nurses who sacrifice their lunches, breaks and even hold their bladder to take care of the patients. There a lot of behind the curtain workers who do the same as nurses to take care of the patients, sometimes even more. Doctors, respiratory therapist, CT Scan/MRI Technologist, Radiologic technologists, Physical therapist, surgeons, SO MUCH more. , countless medical staff who help takes care of the ill. We need to give credits to ALL the medical staff not just the nurses.

How refreshing is it to hear about this wonderful human interest story. So sick of horrific news especially cops killing civilians. This story renews my faith in humanity.
