Man, 21, arrested in Ford Heights homicide

FORD HEIGHTS, Ill. — Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a February homicide in Ford Heights, Ill., the Cook County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday.

According to a statement, Shaquille Williams, of Markham, Ill., was taken into custody at his residence last week.

The statement said on Feb. 12, police were alerted to a man shot on the 1300 block of East Lincoln Highway. When officers arrived they discovered a man who had been shot multiple times and was unresponsive. He was transported to an area hospital where he died.

The victim was later identified as 35-year-old Michael Armstrong of Harvey.

Williams has been charged with first-degree murder.

According to the sheriff’s office, Williams is scheduled for a bond hearing Sunday at George N. Leighton Criminal Court Building.
