PORTLAND, Ore. -- Working at a bookstore shouldn't have that many hazards.
Maybe some customers put books away on the wrong shelves. Maybe some read a bunch and never buy anything.
Or in one case, a kid leaves a twelve foot diameter pool of vomit on the floor.
That's what happened to the workers at the independent bookstore, Powell’s On Hawthorne, in Portland, Oregon.
They cleaned it up, and they didn't think anything of it.
Until the kid mailed them a card.
They knew who it was for because the envelope read, "Attention Barf Cleaners."
Inside the card was a handwritten apology and a "Ben and Jerry's" gift card.
The note reads, "This Ben and Jerry's card is for the people who cleaned up the throw-up of a kid on Friday the 28th. I don't know their names, but I thank them a lot and I'm sorry again for throwing up and hope you enjoy your ice cream. From Jack, AKA the kid that puked right next to the bathroom."
