NORMAL, Ill. -- The Illinois State University men's basketball coach, one his players, and the athletics director fondly remember on Wednesday two colleagues who were among the seven people killed in a small plane crash downstate.

36 year-old Torrey Ward and 37 year-old Aaron Leetch died when their plane went down in a field near the airport in Bloomington. There was very heavy fog at the time.

Torrey was the associate head coach of the men's basketball team. Leetch was the deputy director of athletics for external operations.

Coach Dan Muller and athletics director Larry Lyons often became choked up and broke into tears when talking about Leetch and Ward.

"He was a good man. I'm gonna miss him," a very emotional Muller said about Leetch.

"He was on a path. He was gonna be a head coach. He had that skill set to do that. Some school is not going to have that opportunity to have him as their head coach. It's just unfortunate because we need people like him to have on that side of the business," Lyons said about Ward.
