CHICAGO — Chicago gang enforcement officers shot and wounded a man on the Southwest Side.

It happened near Rockwell and 61st Streets just after 4 p.m. Saturday.

Police say an officer who was conducting a narcotics investigation approached the man and identified himself.

The man pointed a gun at the officer and ran into two other officers, and pointed the gun at them.

Those officers shot the man in the legs.

He was taken to the hospital where his condition was stabilized.

Police say they found the man’s gun at the scene.

The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating, as it does with all police-involved shootings.

If these people would quit committing crime, this wouldn’t even be an issue. But hey, he lived. No racial drama here!
