ZION, Ill. — Police fatally shot a man in Far North suburban Zion.

Officers were responding to a call about a fight in the 2300 block of Gilead Avenue just before 2 p.m. Saturday. The caller said they heard a gunshot.

Police say a man with a gun ran from officers when they arrived.

They chased him for about two blocks, before an officer shot the man.

Police started treating him at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. He has not been identified.

Investigators recovered a gun at the scene.

Police did not say whether the man who was shot had pointed the gun at an officer or officers.

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force and the Lake County state’s attorney’s office are investigating.

Oh, now he’s only 14? He just keeps getting younger by the post. Is his name Benjamin Button? Maybe the question you should be asking, Ana, is why a 14-year-old is running around town with a gun in his hand. Or would that question lead to too many uncomfortable questions? My only question to you is what exactly is a “potitioal murder”.
