NAPERVILLE, Ill.  –  Authorities say a man in Naperville stabbed a sleeping couple with a 12-inch kitchen knife Tuesday night because he believed their daughter made disparaging remarks about his looks at a party.

Zachary Machnikowski, 18, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, home invasion and residential burglary.

The woman was treated and released from the hospital.  Her husband is in good condition, recovering at the hospital.

Machnikowski told police he was tired of “being made fun of and being called ugly” all his life.
