CHICAGO — A man and a woman were found dead in an apartment Tuesday with stab wounds to their bodies, according to police.

The two were found in a building on the 2800 block of North Maplewood at around noon Tuesday. Officers assisted EMS and found the two unresponsive bodies in an apartment. The victims, one male adult and one female adult, had stab wounds to their bodies, police said.

Neighbors say the victims were married and in their 50’s and had lived in the neighborhood for decades.

“They’re a tight knight family,” said neighbor Migedalia Torres.

The couple lived next door one of the victim’s mother and brother. Police took them both away for questioning.

Area North detectives are still investigating the incident and were seen taking bags of evidence from the home.

Police said the incident appeared to be domestic related.
