Coach Q, Toews reach career milestones in Blackhawks’ win over Carolina
RALEIGH, N.C. — Corey Crawford led the way with 43 saves as the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Carolina Hurricanes Monday night in Raleigh, 3-1.
Andrew Shaw and Patrick Sharp both scored for the Blackhawks in the first period. Shaw added an empty-net goal in the third to seal the victory.
Victor Rask scored Carolina’s lone goal in the second period.
The win earned coach Joel Quenneville his 750th career win. Also, captain Jonathan Toews earned his 500th career point with his assist in the third period.
Chicago’s next game will be Wednesday, when they will visit the Philadelphia Flyers.
