CHICAGO -- The National Weather Service has updated the Winter Weather Advisory issued earlier to a good portion include all of the Chicago area as well as northern Illinois into northwest Indiana until 11 a.m. this Monday morning.

Snow fall amounts of 2 to 4-inches are forecast along and north of Interstate-80 with 3 to 5-inches possible along and north of a line from Dixon to Waukegan.

Driving conditions will deteriorate this morning as the center of heaviest snow passes though the area. At a little after 5AM CDT, Woodstock reported 1.5-inches of snow on the ground.

Monday morning’s rush hour is expected to be the peak hour for snow fall in Chicago.

On Tuesday, another system is coming through that is expected to produce rain and thunderstorms.
