CHICAGO -- An area furniture store gave away millions Saturday, all a part of a promotion that caused thousands of shoppers to cash in thanks to one of Chicago’s record-setting snowfalls.

Back in January, Art Van Furniture made a deal with customers: Come in and buy something, and if it snows 3 inches or more on Super Bowl Sunday, you get your money back.

And how could we forget that day: Feb. 1, when Chicago saw a record 19.3 inches of snow.

That snowfall becoming one of the top five in Chicago history.

On Saturday Art Van honored that bet by cutting more than $2 million  in checks for 1,900 Chicago area customers.
