PALM SPRINGS, Fla. — A Florida woman who was searching for her cat on Tuesday instead found a burglar hiding under her bed.

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, a stranger was knocking on residents’ doors near the 100 block of Cayman Drive, prompting a neighbor to call 911. The man was then seen walking near a 61-year-old woman’s home and apparently entered the residence.

Around the same time, the woman was inside the home searching for her cat when she reached under her bed and “felt she had touched human skin.” Christian Vatovec, 25, of Lake Worth, was hiding under the bed.

Vatovec quickly left the home, jumped a fence and ran away. Police found the man and the woman identified him as the burglar.
