Trooper saves man who fell off overpass onto Eisenhower Expressway

FOREST PARK-- A man fell off the Harlem Avenue overpass onto the inbound Eisenhower Expressway.

The incident happened just before 3 a.m. Thursday.

A state trooper happened to be making a traffic stop, just a few feet away from where the man fell.

The officer immediately ran into traffic, stopped two semi-trucks, and got the man off the expressway.

The man is reportedly mentally ill.

There's no word yet on his physical condition.

The trooper was not hurt.

    Hopefully this lands smack in front of the governor and he rethinks huge cuts that go towards helping the hundreds of thousands of mentally ill here in IL. Thankful the trooper was not harmed and both are alive! Unfortunately the mentally ill person will probably not be able to get help/afford that he/she needs.
