The University of Chicago and UIC hosted a unity breakfast Monday morning celebrating their commitment to bringing the Obama presidential library to Chicago.

Both universities are finalists to become the library’s home.

Mayor Emanuel spoke at the event saying whether the library is built on the South side or the West side, the Obama library needs to be in Chicago.

It could bring thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in economic security to the city.

New York and Hawaii are also potential locations.

A decision from the Obama Library Foundation is expected after Chicago’s April 7th mayoral election.

With the mayor stating that this library will bring hundreds of million of dollars to Chicago , than I have to agree with Gov. Rauner in cutting state funds for maintaining parks in Chicago. Re-direct funds to other parts of the state , cut the budget and reduce deficit spending.
