MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. --  Mt. Baldy will remain closed for a second straight summer while scientists work to determine what caused a 6-year old boy from Illinois to get buried alive there.

The dune has been closed since July 2013.

That's when Nathan Woessner, 6, fell into a sinkhole, getting trapped beneath several feet of sand  for three hours before being rescued.

Since then, researchers using special equipment have discovered at least eight more sinkholes.
