Bulls come up short against Thunder, 109-100

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Pau Gasol notched 20 points and Nikola Mirotic added 27 off the bench, but it wasn’t enough as the Chicago Bulls came up short in a high-scoring affair against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, 109-100.

The Bulls continue to play without stars Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler, and Aaron Brooks, starting once again for Rose, scored 11 points in the road loss.

Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook led all scorers with 36 points and talllied 11 rebounds, as the Thunder held on at home. Thunder center Enes Kanter scored 18 points and snagged 18 rebounds.

Sunday marked the Bulls’ fifth loss in their last six games. Chicago will play again Wednesday, when they will host the Indiana Pacers.
