1 dead, 2 hurt in Antioch fire: report

ANTIOCH, Ill. — One person has died and two others were hospitalized Sunday morning at a house fire in north suburban Antioch, officials said.

The blaze broke out at 10:21 a.m. at a home in the 38000 block of North Drexel Boulevard, said Antioch Deputy Chief Fire Chris Lienhardt.

Multiple firefighters remain on the scene and there are reports of injuries and of people trapped, Lienhardt said.

One person died in the blaze, according to Lake County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Curtis Gregory, and two others were taken to a hospital, officials said. No more details were immediately available.

Gregory said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
