Metra service restored after derailment, minor delays expected

CHICAGO –Metra service is back up and running for the morning commute.

Crews worked through the night after Monday’s derailment.

Metra says there may be a speed restriction and minor delays this morning. Riders should check the website for any changes in service.

A locomotive derailed on the Northwest Side Monday afternoon, and clogged train traffic north and northwest from Chicago during the evening rush.

An investigation is underway.

No one was hurt.
