GLENVIEW, Ill. -- An attempted crash-and-grab at one of the Chicago area's best known appliance stores.
A silver van plowed into Abt in Glenview around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle barreled through two sets of doors into the receiving area. The driver of the van, plus three other suspects in a minivan, stormed into the store. But, an Abt employee confronted them, and they escaped in the minivan with nothing. They remain on the loose.
There are 250 surveillance cameras throughout the store, and seven of them clearly recorded the suspects.
The suspects were in-and-out of the store in 30 seconds. They were dressed in black, and wore gloves and masks.
The store is open today.
