SOUTH AFRICA — The Salvation Army in South Africa is using the viral phenomenon of ‘the dress’ as a PSA for domestic abuse.

‘The dress’ broke the internet last week as people debated whether it was black and blue or white and gold.

The ad features a woman covered in bruises and wearing the white and gold version of ‘the dress.’

The text of the image reads: “Why is it so hard to see black and blue. The only illusion is if you think it was her choice. One in 6 women are victims of abuse. Stop abuse against women.”

The PSA is being called ‘powerful,’ and a lot of people are praising it.

According to BuzzFeed News, the Salvation Army has yet to comment about their new ad campaign.
