LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. -- The Lake County coroner wants the death of a toddler to be re-examined.

Melissa Calusinski was found guilty of murdering 16-month-old Benjamin Kingan in 2011.

Kingan passed out at a daycare in Lincolnshire and died at a hospital.

Calusinski confessed to throwing the boy on the floor and is serving a 31-year sentence.

But Lake County Coroner Thomas Rudd says the autopsy, performed before he took office, was wrong.

He says the child suffered a head injury at the daycare six weeks before his death, and that injury caused blood to pool-up around his brain.

The Lake County state's attorney says Rudd has not presented any new evidence the jury didn't hear.
