HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. —  A northwest suburban hospital has lifted a lockdown that was caused by an accidental activation of an alarm system.

The Alexian Brothers Hospital Behavioral Center in Hoffman Estates was put on lockdown around 10 a.m. today, after an alarm sounded just before 9:30 a.m., indicating there was an active shooter.

Repairs on the phone lines there reportedly led to wires being crossed and an alarm being tripped.
