CHICAGO — Today is Chicago’s 178th birthday. The city was incorporated on this date in 1837.

The Chicago History Museum is hosting a party from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In the past year Chicago has received several unofficial accolades.

Researchers at the University of Colorado called Chicago the funniest city in America, and GQ calls it the greatest drinking city.

And Trip Advisor says the Art Institute of Chicago is the best museum in the world.
