CEDAR LAKE, Ind. -- 17-year-old Alton Bradley, just months away from graduation, was stabbed to death Tuesday night.
The stabbing occurred near the intersection of 142nd place and Lauerman in Cedar Lake, Ind.
Police told WGN Bradley and one of his friends— both Hanover Central High School students -- were stabbed during what’s being described as a “melee” Tuesday night.
Police said prior to the stabbing, two vehicles had been chasing each other around Cedar Lake.
The driver of one of those vehicles stopped to talk to Bradley and his friend, who were both walking at the time.
That driver was then hit from behind by a second vehicle.
Witnesses told WGN a fight broke out, and police said there were a total of eight people involved between the two cars, and the pedestrians.
Cedar Lake police are now holding the 19-year-old driver of thesecond vehicle behind bars. The driver is now awaiting charges.
