Normal service resumes on CTA’s Yellow, Green and Pink Lines

CHICAGO — A messy and icy morning commute is expected as snow, sleet and freezing rain hit the Chicago area.

Several CTA lines were experiencing mechanical problems, but service has since been restored.

Streets & San Update:
The Department of Streets and Sanitation deployed the

full fleet of over 280 snow plows and salt spreaders along with 26 smaller
four-by-four snow plows to main streets, Lake Shore Drive and other vital public
safety locations this morning. 

The snow
plows and salt spreaders will focus on salting and plowing arterial routes
throughout the morning commute.

The City will continue to monitor road and weather
conditions from Snow Command and will adjust resources as needed.

Safety is the City’s top priority, and motorists are
urged to patient when driving during inclement weather, to be cautious and
drive according to conditions.
