Glen Hochman, 52, a retired White Plains officer, killed himself after killing his two youngest daughters, Alissa Hochman, 17, and Deanna Hochman, 13, on Saturday at their home.

Harrison Police Chief Anthony Marracini said a gun was found at the home.

Marracini did not discuss a possible motive.

Hochman’s wife, Anamarie DiPietro-Hochman, 50, and their eldest daughter Samantha, 22, were out of town when the shooting happened.

White Plains Public Safety Commissioner David Chong confirmed that Hochman had recently retired and had served the department for more than 22 years with an unblemished record.

Last year Hochman won a life-saving award for keeping an unresponsive man alive until police arrived.

“The White Plains Police Department is shocked and horrified by the news of this unfathomable tragedy,” Chong said. “We can only pray for the entire Hochman family.”

Neighbors described the family as friendly and kind.

The Harrison School District posted a statement to their website mourning the deaths of the daughters.

“With great sadness our District mourns the death of high school senior Alissa Hochman, and her younger sister Deanna both lost to incomprehensible tragedy,” Superintendent Louis Wool wrote.

The school opened at noon to provide support for students and families.

Three family dogs were also shot and killed.

Sources say Hochman left a suicide note and that he and his wife were having marital troubles and had been considering a divorce.
