YMCA’s across Chicago area open to help parents during school closings

CHICAGO -- The bitter cold has closed many schools in the Chicago area - some are starting late.

All YMCA's of Metro Chicago will remain open today.

Twelve YMCA's across Chicagoland will be offering a day-long School Days Out program to assist parents and guardians with childcare challenges.

The Y's program offers fun, affordable activities for school-age children.

Chicago public libraries and park district facilities will also be open.

Both the Adler Planetarium and the Museum of Science and Industry are offering free entry for children accompanied by an adult.
