CHICAGO -- Police are seeking two suspects after a cell phone store in Chicago’s Grand Crossing neighborhood was robbed Thursday.
Around 1 p.m., three masked men in hoodies entered the Boost Mobile store at 73rd and Stony Island.
Workers inside the market next door were alerted to the robbery when a customer came in inquiring about the scene inside the Boost Mobile.
The owner of Boost Mobile also owns the three neighboring businesses in the complex and they are all connected. Surveillance monitors for all four stores are on display and showed the robbery in progress. Security guards jumped into action as the men exited the cell phone store.
Employees also chased down one of the robbers, singling out the man with the gun. That man fired shots at the store employees as he tried to get away.
The other two robbers got away but workers held the armed suspect until police arrived.
Police say they recover a weapon and charges are pending for the man in custody
